Are taxes moral?

Some years ago, I ran into arguments saying that taxes are immoral because you can’t refuse to pay them. There are those, usually the radicals, who think this is robbery.
Even I, a nonradical, couldn’t deny that idea, but I was sure taxes were something excellent and fair. After trying to assimilate that and reading, I found some answers, and I would like to show why nowadays it’s a lot easier for me to stand up for taxes.
The idea that the money that we earn from our work is an idea focused on the individual. That’s ok. What should we expect from a narcissistic society? There is a lot more involved than just effort. Timing is something essential and more important than the average thinks. If it weren’t because of Medium, I wouldn’t be here writing, so I should be grateful for Medium existence. Probably I would have another place to write, even a paper if that is the case, but for sure, it would be something different.
Since the beginning of existence, we have tended to be egocentric as we live all day in our point of view. Nowadays, in an era of followers and perfection inside social media, we are even more corrupted to feeling essential and protagonists.
We have to accept individualities, but we should remember, and maybe the government is failing to help us at this, that we are part of something bigger. We live in a society that has a lot of history before us. A community that is made for us so we could be better. If we live in a technological world today, someone from prior generations built this for us. And before this person, someone paves the road to the creators of the technologies so they could do that.
To conclude, I’m not here to say that our efforts do not matter. I genuinely believe that individuals can do incredible things through hard work, and they deserve a profit. But what we can’t forget is that there are people who maybe do not have the same opportunities. Sometimes having a bedroom, access to the internet, a lovely family, and studying time can be advantageous. The minimum we can do is give back to the others enabling them to have the same opportunities as us.
